Thursday, June 6, 2013

POLAND -- Bridge replacements in northwestern Owen County will cause the closure of State Road 42 for more than three months.

The road will be closed approximately one half mile east of Poland. It is set to close on Monday, June 10 and reopen in late September.

The 100-day closure is for replacing two bridges and one large structure.

The Indiana Department of Transportation detour follows State Road 42 westbound to State Road 59 northbound to Interstate 70 eastbound to State Road 243 southbound and back to State Road 42. Traffic traveling in the opposite direction will use the same detour in reverse.

CLR, Inc. was awarded the $1.89 million contract. The completion date for this project is Oct. 12, 2013.

INDOT reminds motorists to follow the posted work zone speed limit, use caution and consider worker safety when traveling through a construction zone.
