Lillian Elizabeth (Brown) Whitaker Morlan, 98, of Brazil, formerly of Greencastle, went home to be with her Lord on her 98th birthday, June 5, 2013.

Liz, as she was called, was born on June 5, 1915 to Amos C. and Osa (Heady) Brown in Greencastle.

Liz was a member of the First Christian Church, in Brazil. She was a member of the Daughters of Ruth Class and helped in the Children's Beginners Department for 40 years. She was a past member of the Knightsville Order of Eastern Star.

Preceding her in death was her husband James R. Morlan, daughters: Roxie Joan Whitaker and Nancy Elaine White, granddaughter Beth Ann Jones and great-grandchildren: Erica Miller and Colton Jones, brothers: Roscoe, George, Ray and Howard Brown.

Liz is survived by her children: Betty Shoemaker and husband John of Greencastle, Sondra Burris and husband Crawford of Greencastle, Ted Whitaker and wife Jeanne of Harmony, Sue Jones and husband David of Brazil and Robin Reckerd and husband Dan of Plainfield; 19 grandchildren: Janice Rissot (Jeff), Doug Shoemaker, Bruce Burris (Jeannie), Pam Miller (Greg), Brad Burris (Linda), Jo Ellen Rains (Allan), Amy Whitaker, Mitch Whitaker (Jamy), Craig Whitaker (Emilee), Jason Jones (Andrea), Sarah Jones, Shane White (Shane Renee), Ben White (Jacob Beck), Amanda Bonilla (Martin), Heather Reckerd, Jessica Reckerd, Adam Reckerd, Matt Whitaker and Mike Whitaker; 32 great grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren along with many other extended family members.

Elizabeth loved her family and her Lord.

Funeral Services will be held at Lawson -- Miller Chapel, Monday, June 10 at 1 p.m. with Pastor Chris Greg officiating. Burial will follow at Calcutta Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home Monday from 11 a.m. until time of services.
