Gobin to host DePauw alumni worship service

Saturday, June 8, 2013

Worship at Gobin Memorial United Methodist this Sunday will include the alumni worship service for DePauw University.

There are two unique persons participating in the 10:30 a.m. service. Both of these gentlemen are from the 60th anniversary alumni class, having graduated from DePauw in 1953.

Both are still as active and talented as they've been throughout their 60 year careers in ministry.

Rev. Robert Schilling is a master organist and was the minister of worship and arts at North United Methodist Church in Indianapolis from 1961 through 2002. His musicianship has been enjoyed throughout the world.

Rev. David Durham served as an ordained clergy in the United Methodist Church for 40 years before retiring, 33 years as a pastor and 10 years as a chaplain. Since retiring, he was instrumental in organizing the "Walk to Emmaus" in Western New York. Most recently he has served several years in the British Methodist Church in the region of Durham, northeast U.K.
