Andrew 'Keith' Carr

Andrew "Keith" Carr, 21, of Greencastle passed away in Rome, Italy from injuries sustained in an accident on June 11, 2013.

Keith was born on May 19, 1992 in Indianapolis to Mark and Julie Walton Carr.

He was a member of First Baptist Church of Greencastle.

An honors student, he graduated in the top 10 percent of the 2011 Greencastle High School class. Keith was active all four years in football and basketball during high school. He received the 2010 WCC All Academic award in football. Also, Keith was a member of Latin Club, Student Council, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and was the school Chess Club Champion.

During high school, Keith was employed at the Putnam Inn.

A junior at Marquette University, Keith was studying Operations and Supply Chain Management. He received the Ignatius and Magis Scholarships, and was on the Dean's list. Keith was a Brother of Kappa Sigma fraternity and participated on the Marquette Quidditch Team.

He was currently studying at John Cabot University in Rome for the summer term.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Elnora Jean Walton; paternal grandfather, Donald "Doc" Brattain; an uncle, Jeffrey E. Carr; and an aunt, Sherrie Holley.

Surviving are his parents; a sister, Makenzie Carr of Chicago; maternal grandfather, Audrey K. Walton; paternal grandmother, June Brattain; two uncles, Drew Brattain and wife Kim, and David Brattain and wife Jill; and cousins, Byron, Samantha and Kamrin Holley; Elijah, Hannah, Nick, Eric, and Emma Brattain.

A celebration of Keith's life will be held on Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home, with Pastor Randy McNeely officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Keith was known for his love of music, camo, Harry Potter, bright colors and American pride.
