Harold N. Belcher

Harold N. Belcher, 74, of Quincy, passed away at his residence on June 14, 2013. He was born on July 17, 1938 at Carlyle, Clinton County, Ill. and was the son of the late Herschell Noah and Zelma Salina (Meyer) Belcher.

He married Eleanor (Goldsborough) Belcher on Sept. 6, 1959 and she survives. He is also survived by his children Kathy Goss and husband Gary, Terre Haute and Ronald Belcher and wife Lori, Gosport, his sisters, Evelyn Schmollinger, Vandalia, Ill. and Marlene Harmon, Centralia, Ill., his brother, Howard Lee Belcher, Vandalia, Ill., three grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren.

He was a member of the Cataract Missionary Baptist Church and a retired farm manager for the Indiana Department of Corrections at the Putnamville Corrections Facility. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the United States Army.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, June 19 at 11 a.m. at the Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 18 from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Cloverdale Cemetery.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-great-granddaughter, Charleigh Powers, his niece, Sharon Loyall and nephew, Ronald Siebert.
