Friday, June 21, 2013

The Putnam County Extension Homemakers celebrated its 100th anniversary on Thursday evening at the Putnam County Fairgrounds. The group, which started in 1913 in Putnam County celebrated by having a gala celebration, which included dinner and entertainment by the Tad Robinson Trio. Later in the evening several of the group's members including Betty McFarland Thomas (above) , who has been in the group more than 60 years, spoke about their memories in a segment called "Memories from Years Gone By." Other speakers included Thursa Evens, Edith Fry, Judy Parker and Meegan Ebacher. Jackie Baumann and Bonnie Bryan (above, right) provided introductions for the event. Both Baumann and Bryan were part of the anniversary celebration commitee.

  • Congratulations Ladies of Putnam Co. Ext. Homemakers!! I was a member of Merry Jills Club for many years and enjoyed every minute. Wish I could have been with you in your celebration.
