State Police arrest Coatesville man for cruelty to animals

Thursday, June 27, 2013

An Indiana State Police investigation into the deaths of three dogs has led to the arrest of a rural Putnam County man.

Police recently arrested Todd Marsee, 47, of Coatesville, on a misdemeanor charge of cruelty to animals along with a probation revocation on a non-related charged of strangulation.

Marsee is currently being held without bond at the Putnam County Jail.

The case originated on June 20 at 1:07 a.m., when a witness called the Indiana State Police Putnamville Post reporting that Marsee had killed three of his own dogs.

Trooper Jonathan Cumbie was sent to the residence and was able to determine through investigation that Marsee allegedly became agitated and struck the nearly three-month-old Pitbull dogs on the head with a blunt object, ultimately causing their death.

Marsee was taken into custody at his residence around 1 p.m. Wednesday.

Assisting Trooper Cumbie at the time of the arrest were ISP Sergeant Cory Robinson and troopers DuJuan Presley-McFadden and Ryan Purkiser. Also assisting was the Putnam County Prosecutor's Office.

  • So glad to hear that a man with this cruel lifestyle is removed from our streets. I hope he gets the maximum penalty and is not returned to his home for a long time! He deserves to be Hated!!
