The Purdue Club first issued scholarships in 2002, and since that time, 33 county students have received scholarships for a total of $18,400.

The Purdue Club honored its scholarship recipients and heard remarks from two Purdue University officials at the recent dinner following the annual golf scramble. Purdue football offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach John Shoop discussed the football program under the leadership of new head coach Darrell Hazell while Purdue Alumni Association Senior Advisor John Sautter discussed the Purdue campus and programs under new President Mitch Daniels.

Three of the club's scholarship recipients, Emily Gill, Tatum Straziscar, and Diane Wokoun, were introduced and discussed their future studies at Purdue.

Rodger Winger, Purdue Club vice-president and chairman of the golf outing, was presented with plans for a brick at Purdue's Ross-Ade Stadium honoring his many years of organizing the annual golf outings.
