Forst D. Fuller, 97, of Greencastle, passed away on Saturday, July 6, 2013.

Born April 25, 1916 in Stroh, Ind., he was the son of Russell H. and Kitty (Forst) Fuller.

He received his Bachelor of Science degree from DePauw University in 1938 and his master's and PhD from Purdue University in 1953.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran having served during World War II.

Forst retired from DePauw University, where he had served as a professor of zoology from 1941 to 1991.

He was a master gardener and a member of the Rotary Club; Elks Lodge 1077; Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity; American Legion Post 58 and the Greencastle Chamber of Commerce.

Survivors include his daughters, Melinda (John) Mayhall of Toronto, Canada, and Lucinda Guevara of Grapevine, Texas; a stepson, Dr. David (Barbara) Haines of Warsaw, Ind.; 11 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; two nephews, Mike Fuller of Louisville, and Richard Flint of Greencastle; and two nieces, Sherri Griffis of Rushville, and Barbara Flint of Greencastle.

He was preceded in death by his wives, Mary Louise (Beem) Fuller in 1953 and Leota (Mullins) Haines Fuller in 2002; a sister, Oma Ruth Flint; a brother, Demoyne Fuller; a stepson, Phil Haines; and a granddaughter, Erin Fulton.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 9 at Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home, Greencastle, with Rev. Mark David Haines officiating. Interment will follow at Brick Chapel Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until time of service on Tuesday, July 9 at the funeral home.
