SANDY, Utah (AP) -- Cloverdale native Chad Collins missed a chance for the fourth 59 in Web.com Tour history, parring the final six holes for an 11-under 60 on Friday in the Utah Championship.

The 34-year-old Collins missed a 15-foot uphill birdie putt on the par-4 ninth, his last hole in the second round at Willow Creek Country Club. He had an eagle and nine birdies on the first 12 holes and matched the tour nine- hole record with a 27.

Notah Begay III, Doug Dunakey and Jason Gore are the only players to shoot 59 in the history of the tour that started in 1990. Japan's Ryo Ishikawa has the lowest round on a major tour, shooting a 12-under 58 to win the 2010 Crowns on the Japan Tour. Al Geiberg-er, Chip Beck, David Duval, Paul Goydos and Stuart Appleby have shot 59 in PGA Tour play, and Annika Sorenstam has the lone 59 on the LPGA Tour.

Collins led the tournament at 16 under. He had a 66 on Thursday.
