Prairie wildflower identification program July 27 at McCloud Park

NORTH SALEM -- McCloud Nature Park will be hosting a free program on prairie wildflower identification on Saturday, July 27 at 2 p.m.

McCloud Park's naturalist will help participants to identify prairie wildflowers and also invasive plants that have sprung up.

Participants can also test their newly-gained knowledge on a naturalist-guided hike.

This program is designed for all ages and will last about 90 minutes. Wearing hiking shoes is advised to immerse yourself in the beauty of nature on a prairie hike at McCloud.

McCloud Nature Park, operated by Hendricks County Parks and Recreation, is located five minutes south of North Salem at 8518 N. Hughes Rd. Admission is free, and the park is open from dawn to dusk daily.

The Nature Center hours are Wednesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 1-5 p.m.
