The trained eye of Adult Open Class flower judge Maxine Huff focuses on the task of selecting the Grand Champion Cut Flower Specimen at Harris Hall Saturday during the 2013 Putnam County Fair. The judge, a master gardener from Sullivan County, named the Oriental Lily entered by Rachel Cloncs of Roachdale (shown separately) as grand champion among 300 entries. The competition, which featured 15 rookie entrants this year, proved so popular with contestants overall that organizers ran out of bottles to display the flowers at one point.
