County Jail

Several people have been booked into the Putnam County Jail recently.

* At 3:30 p.m. Friday, Arthur Lee Rose, 39, Greencastle, was arrested for arson.

* At 4:30 a.m. Saturday, Daymian Thomas-Franklin Weist, 18, Bainbridge, was charged with being a minor in consumption of alcohol.

At 8:42 p.m. Ashleigh Lynn Blanford, 22, Brownsburg, was held at the jail for operating while intoxicated.

* At 2:20 a.m. Sunday, Adam Kyle Farr, 30, Reelsville, was booked in for operating while intoxicated.

At 12:55 p.m. Dean Allen Sisk, 55, Cloverdale, was arrested for intimidation and disorderly conduct.

At 1:25 p.m. Larry Dean Myers, 51, Greencastle, was charged with battery.

* At 3:40 a.m. Monday, Johnny Ray Corder, 21, Cloverdale, was booked in for domestic battery and battery with bodily injury.

At 2:30 p.m. Ryan Jay Letnz, 39, Indianapolis, was arrested for failure to appear.

* At 12:20 a.m. Tuesday, Erica Deana Paige Looper, 20, Cloverdale, was charged with domestic battery.

City Police

Greencastle City Police officers are investigating the theft of a van from a gravel parking lot at Indiana and Columbia streets.

A white 1996 Chevrolet Astro van, valued at $1,156, was reportedly taken from the site sometime between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday.

The van has no license plate and when last seen had two flat tires, Capt. Mike Hanlon reported.

One recent arrest was reported by city officers.

-- At 9:30 p.m. Sunday, Jason Edward Mackey, 30, Greencastle, was arrested at Putnam Plaza by Officer Matt Huffman for false reporting.

Lodged in the Putnam County Jail, Mackey was also wanted on a Wabash County warrant for non-payment of child support and failure to appear.

One recent accident was investigated by city officers.

-- At 12:24 p.m. Friday, a two-vehicle mishap occurred at Indianapolis Road and Round Barn Road.

Officer Albert Epple reported that Darian Ray, 20, Greencastle, was stopped in heavy eastbound traffic on Indianapolis Road when her 2006 Volkswagen Beetle was struck from behind by a 2006 GMC Envoy, driven by Linda Marley, 69, Greencastle.

Marley said traffic in front of her stopped suddenly and she was unable to avoid the collision.

Total damage was estimated at $5,000-$10,000.

Sheriff's Department

* At 11:20 a.m. Thursday, Kent C. Christain, 51, Clayton, and Dennis M. Rodritguez, 41, Camarillo, Calif., were both trying to exit the parking lot at Lincoln Park Speedway in Putnamville when an accident occurred.

Christain told Col. Tom Helmer he was following another vehicle out of the pits in a 1999 Ford F350. He said Rodritguez, driving a 2013 Toyota Tundra, pulled from another lot trying to get between the two vehicles.

In the process, the right rear bumper of the Rodritguez truck hit the left front bumper of Christain's truck. The right rear quarter panel of Rodritguez's truck was also damaged.

Damage was estimated at $1,001-$2,500.

* At 5:34 a.m. on Saturday, Jerry L. Brown, 50, North Salem, was southbound on County Road 900 East just south of County Road 800 North in a 2003 Dodge Dakota when he hit a deer.

Deputy Ronnie Campbell estimated damage at $1,001-$2,500.

* At 3 a.m. Sunday, Lt. Dwight Simmons responded to two calls of semi tractors hitting a tree that had fallen across the eastbound lanes of Interstate 70 near the 37-mile marker.

Steven R. Adams, 40, Anderson, was eastbound in a 2007 Volvo semi tractor. Mekhrali M. Iskandarov, 52, Dayton, Ohio, was also eastbound in a 2013 Freightliner tractor.

Both drivers advised by the time the saw the tree across both lanes of traffic, they could not avoid the collision.

Damage in each accident was estimated at $2,501-$5,000.

No injuries were reported in either incident.
