Earl L. Book

Earl L. Book, 72, Poland, passed away on Monday, July 29, 2013 at Union Hospital in Terre Haute.

He was born on Jan. 20, 1941 in Monrovia, Calif., and was the son of the late Earl Clifton and Freda Louise (Wright) Book.

He was married to Joan M. (Ford) Book on Aug. 28, 1958, and she survives.

He is also survived by his children, Donna Marie Book, Indianapolis, Linda Rene Chiles, Brazil, Theresa Rae Southgate, Poland, Edward L. Book and wife Mitzy, Shelbyville, and David A. Book, Poland, his siblings, Barbara Joann Wallace, Indianapolis, Mary Louise Gann, Alton, Ga., Sylvia Jean Luker and husband, Larry, Clayton, and Joseph Oliver Book, Clayton, five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was a retired mechanic and freight handler for Yellow Freight at Indianapolis.

He was a member of Teamsters Local 135, Indianapolis, and a former member of Masonic Lodge F & AM 132, Cloverdale, and the Terre Haute Valley of Scottish Rite.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 2 at the Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale. Visitation will be on Thursday, Aug. 1 from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Interment will be in the Cloverdale Cemetery.
