Aug. 24 date set for fourth annual Greencastle Music Fest

Almost Home and Swizzle Stick owner Gail Smith will be hosting the fourth annual Greencastle Music Fest on Saturday, Aug. 24.

The 3-11 p.m. Music Fest will feature three live bands on the main stage, featuring Fingertrip from New Castle and the Just Us Band from Terre Haute, as well as returning headliners The Flying Toasters from Indianapolis.

The three cover bands will offer a wide variety of music for festival participants.

This year's musical entertainment will also feature local acoustic acts John Stevens and Maryann Michael.

Smith originally came up with the idea of a musical festival four years ago for the anniversary for Almost Home. Now the festival has grown to more than 2,000 attendees throughout the day.

There will be events all day long, including cornhole tournaments for individual and business teams, a beer garden for those over 21 and activities for children.

All food and beverages will be available through Almost Home and various vendors.
