I-70 project will close State Road 59 ramps beginning Tuesday

BRAZIL -- The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) has announced that the Interstate 70 eastbound exit ramp to State Road 59 will be closed a portion of next week.

The eastbound ramp will be closed both Tuesday, Aug. 13 and Wednesday, Aug.14 from 10 p.m. until 6 a.m. the next morning.

On Thursday, Aug.15 the contractor will close the on ramp from State Road 59 to westbound I-70 from 10 p.m. until 6 a.m. on Friday.

The I-70 project is a patch-and-resurface effort covering the interstate area from U.S. 40 in Vigo County to State Road 59 south of Brazil.

INDOT awarded the resurfacing project to Wabash Valley Asphalt, Terre Haute, for $9.9 million. The work is scheduled for completion by the end of August.
