County buses in working order

Wednesday, August 14, 2013

Putnam County schools received high marks in summer bus inspections, with two corporation receiving perfect marks on their initial summer inspections.

According to information from the Indiana State Police website, both Cloverdale and Greencastle schools had 100 percent of buses pass their June inspections by Indiana State troopers.

For Cloverdale, this means a 30 out of 30, while for Greencastle went a perfect 33-for-33.

Both North Putnam and South Putnam also received high marks, although not all of their buses were approved initially.

North Putnam had 34 of its 39 inspected buses (87 percent) approved originally, with one ordered repaired and four more ruled out of service. Of these, three were repaired and approved before ISP troopers even left the site on June 17.

The remaining two North Putnam buses were repaired and later approved on July 23.

South Putnam had 25 of its 27 buses initially approved for a mark of 93 percent. Of the two ruled out of service in the June 19 inspection, one was repaired later that day and also approved for service.

The other bus was repaired and approved for service on July 8.
