Tiger Cubs first, Eagles place second in three-team meet
The South Putnam and Greencastle took part in a three-team girls' golf match at Twin Bridges on Thursday.
Greencastle won the event with a score of 291, followed by South Putnam's 222 and host Danville's 244.
Greencastle's low-scorer was Liz Johnson with a 49.
"We played the back nine, which is a very challenging course," GHS coach Bob Hedge said. "Liz played another solid game tonight. Haley Cash lowered her score by five strokes from the last match, which made the difference. It was also nice to have Lauren Bridgewater back playing after missing several matches due to family matters."
The Eagles were led in scoring by Kyndra Boyce, who shot a 48. Clair Perry and Allacyn Arnold each finished their nine-hole round at 56, Alicia Haywood at 62 and Carlee Schlatter at 63.
Greencastle is back in action on Monday when it plays at Oak Tree against Plainfield and Danville at 4:30 p.m. The Eagles play at Terre Haute South on Monday at 4:30 p.m.
