GHS solid in CC meet at Fountain Central

VEEDERSBURG -- The Greencastle boys' and girls' cross country team had solid races at the Fountain Central Grand Prix on Saturday.

Each of the boys cut more than 30 second off their time from the previous race this season and the girls' team improved dramatically as well.

Elijah Brattain paced the boys' team with a 17:59 finish under challenging conditions. He finished in seventh place overall at the multi-team event.

Taylor Secrest and Clayton Wilson both finished under 20 minutes for the Tiger Cubs.

Sophomore Corrie Romer led the girls' team in a time of 22:49. She finished in 12th place. Brittany Love (23:10) and Samantha Hayens (23:47) also came in less than 24 minutes.

Greencastle is back on the turf Saturday at McCutcheon at 9 a.m.
