It's a gas, gas, gas

Wednesday, August 28, 2013

With gasoline prices jumping nearly 60 cents per gallon around town, Kroger gas station had quite a line around 2 p.m. as the only remaining station with the morning price of $3.19. Most retailers in Greencastle had fuel for $3.19 as of Tuesday morning, but prices had jumped to $3.73 or $3.75 by early afternoon. Even with prices just up the street at $3.75 (inset) Kroger's business was booming as the last holdout, a trend that continued until after 7 p.m., with Kroger's price still not jumping.

  • Too bad some of the stations don't leave their prices low...when others raise theirs. A gas price jump of 60 cents is ridiculous. If I had an alternate means of getting around, the oil companies wouldn't get another penny of mine. Looks like price gouging to me.
