Cloverdale up and down in three-team golf match

PLAINFIELD -- The Cloverdale golf team competed against Plainfield and Monrovia at Oak Tree Golf Course on Tuesday. The Clovers finished third with a team score of 232, behind the pace of the Quakers (194) and Bulldogs (199).

MaKayla Moore and Harlee Feutter tied for the Clovers lowest score. Both finished at 53. Abbie Speas was third on CHS with a 60, followed by Izzy Wardlow (66) and Kelsey Nees (71).

"The girls continue to work hard to improve their games as we start to approach the conference and county (tournaments)," CHS coach Matthew Langdon said. "We have had a stretch of days filled with meets so it will be nice to have a full week of practice before our next meet."

Meredith Knieper of Monrovia was medalist. She finished at 41.

The Clovers are off until Tuesday when they play at South Vermillion at 5 p.m. The conference golf tournament is Saturday, Sept. 14.
