FRANKLIN -- The scrimmage at Franklin on Saturday featured four former stars from North Putnam High School, showing the fans some of the impressive talent the Cougars had in recent seasons.

Sophomore Nate Bryan, a linebacker at North Putnam, has moved to defensive tackle for Franklin and is now working with the first team defense.

Hunter Logan, also a sophomore, started at left tackle for the Tigers and has been a solid contributor during training camp.

Sophomore Kolten Everts, who spent his first collegiate season at Marian, transferred to DePauw. He began camp as a quarterback but worked as a wide receiver during the scrimmage.

Freshman Eric Davis, All-State at NPHS two years ago, is a reserve at defensive tackle for the Grizzlies.

The group briefly met up on the field after the game.

Bryan and Hunter will likely get the most action this season for their respective teams, but Everts made an impact when he was on the field Saturday during seven-on-seven drills.

Everts seemed to get open on every play, hauling in one long touchdown reception, but also dropping a pass. He did not play during the simulated half.

In addition to the North Putnam group, one other local athlete was involved with the scrimmage. Greencastle '13 alumnus Hunter Smith is a safety at Franklin. He played in the seven-on-seven portion but not during the simulated half.

NPHS alumnus Travis Franklin began training camp with DePauw but has since left the team.
