Eagles, Clovers compete at Clay City cross country invite
CLAY CITY -- The co-ed cross country teams from South Putnam and Cloverdale ran in the Clay City Invitational on Thursday.
Berndt Freeman of South Putnam was the highest individual finisher for the boys' teams. He placed sixth at 18:34. Bret Brumfield was Cloverdale's top runner. He finished 26th at 20:23.
As a team, South Putnam finished fourth and Cloverdale seventh.
In the girls' race South Putnam's Ariel Higgins (24:45, sixth) was the top local finisher. Clare Plamondon from Cloverdale was 13th at 25:46.
As a team, the Eagles finished second and the Clovers weren't a full roster.
