City Police

Four warrant arrests were made recently by Greencastle City Police officers.

-- At 2:13 a.m. Sunday, Jason Lee Jones, 34, Greencastle, was arrested at his residence by Officer Matt Huffman on a warrant for probation violation. He was lodged in the Putnam County Jail.

-- At 12:50 am. Sunday, Derrick Lenihan, 19, Greencastle, was arrested at a residence on U.S. 231 North on a warrant for criminal mischief. Arrested by Sgt. Charles Inman, he was lodged in the Putnam County Jail.

-- At 2:32 p.m. Friday, William Arthur Stigall Jr., 47, Indianapolis, was arrested at the Adult Probation office in the courthouse on a warrant for probation violation. Arrested by Officer Jeff Modlin, he was lodged in the Putnam County Jail.

-- At 9:40 a.m. Friday, Gerald Alley Jr., 29, Crawfordsville, was arrested at the Adult Probation office in the courthouse on a warrant for probation violation. Arrested by Officer Albert Epple, he was lodged in the Putnam County Jail.

Three recent traffic accidents were investigated by Greencastle officers.

-- At 8:40 a.m. Tuesday, a two-vehicle accident was reported at Indiana and Washington streets.

Edward Barnett, 26, Greencastle, told Officer Darrel Bunten that he ran the red light and his 2003 Chevrolet Astro van entered the intersection, striking the driver's side of a 2004 Ford Explorer, driven by Lawrence Bouslog, 66, Greencastle.

Bouslog was northbound on Indiana Street. He had stopped for the traffic signal and proceeded into the intersection on the green light when his vehicle was struck.

Total damage in the accident was estimated at $2,500-$5,000.

-- At 1:12 p.m. Saturday, a minor mishap was reported at Redbud and Dogwood lanes.

Sgt. Terry Eastham reported that Howard Shrader, 68, Clover-dale, was backing a 2008 GMC Sierra from the driveway at 315 Redbud Lane when the vehicle struck a parked 1998 GMC pickup owned by Roy York, Greencastle.

The York vehicle was legally parked on the opposite side of the street, Sgt. Eastham noted.

Total damage in the mishap was listed at $1,000-$2,500.

-- At 9:33 a.m. Saturday, a minor mishap was reported on the Walmart store parking lot as a 2006 Buick SUV, driven by Susan Dailey, 72, Coatesville, struck the flatbed portion of a parked 2001 Ford F-350 truck.

Dailey told Officer Modlin that she had to go around a car that was not properly pulled all the way into a space and struck the rear of the truck.

Total damage in the mishap was listed as $1,000-$2,500.

The truck, owned by Christopher Hartman, Greencastle, had no apparent damage, the owner reported.
