Clovers rebound, get straight-set win over Shakamak

CLOVERDALE -- The Cloverdale volleyball team beat visiting Shakamak on Tuesday 25-18, 27-25, 25-13.

The win pushed the Clovers' record to 4-7 for the season.

"It was a nice win for us after the heartbreaker against Greencastle in the county tournament," CHS coach Kathy Moore said. "We played well and everyone contributed at some point during the match."

Sophomore Kimmy Winders and junior Jessica Winders tied for the team-lead with eight points each. Jessica also had 22 assists.

Senior libero Lindsay Robson had 22 digs to lead the Clovers.

The Clovers lost to Greencastle on Saturday in the opening round of the Putnam County Tournament. CHS won the first set and had won the last three county titles.

Cloverdale hosts West Central Conference rival Monrovia on Thursday beginning at 7:30 p.m.
