The Cloverdale eighth grade football team improved to 4-1 this season with a 38-0 win at South Putnam on Thursday. The Eagles won the seventh-grade game 12-6.

Taylor Kaeff and Tyce Jackson had more than 100 yards each for the Clovers' older squad. Drew Boyette connected with Dominic Brooks for a 55-yard touchdown pass and Steven Allen had 65 rush yards.

Coach Boyette said his linemen blocked well, opening up lanes for his runners.

Nick Winders and Ethan Radford had six tackles each.

In the seventh-grade game the South Putnam defense dominated, coach Petty said.

Cloverdale plays at Greencastle next Thursday.
