Shades State Park hosts night of stargazing on Sat.
Shades State Park is hosting the Wabash Valley Astronomical Society for a night of stargazing on Saturday, Sept. 28.
A variety of large telescopes will be set up for your use and enjoyment, and experts will be on hand to show the wonder of the night sky, answer questions and provide an evening of magical fun.
Activities begin at 8 p.m. at the Pine Shelter located just inside the entrance gate. Stargazing will be along the new road near the Pine Shelter, and will continue long after the park's normal closing time, until 1 a.m.
Bring blankets and lounge chairs or just wander among the astronomers.
The event is cancelled in case of cloudy skies and inclement weather.
The star party is free, but the usual park entrance fees apply.
