Cloverdale wins at Union in four sets
DUGGER -- The Cloverdale volley ball team won at Union (Dugger) in four sets on Tuesday 25-21, 24-26, 25-20, 25-17.
The win improved the Clovers' record to 6-7 for the season.
"Union is a lot like us; they are small and scrappy," CHS coach Kathy Moore said. "We dug the ball well and had two good performances from our middles. ... It was a good win for us going into our annual Pink Out match Thursday night."
That match, at West Central Conference-rival North Putnam, will be played with both teams wearing pink to raise awareness for breast cancer.
Junior Lexi Branneman and senior Adri Patterson combined for 36 kills to lead the squad and sophomore Jessica Winders had a season-high 37 assists. Senior Lindsay Robson led the team with 24 digs.
The junior varsity team also won on Tuesday.
The Pink Out at North Putnam begins with a JV match at 6 p.m.
