GHS homecoming reunion and chili supper slated Friday

Friday, September 27, 2013

In 1973, the Greencastle High School football team had an exciting undefeated season. It was a memorable time for the players, cheerleaders, coaches and generally the whole school.

Now, 40 years later, a reunion celebration is planned for tonight.

Phone calls, letters and emails have been going out to all the players, coaches and cheerleaders to come together for this celebration at Friday's homecoming game against North Putnam.

The reunion and celebration is being sponsored by the Greencastle High School Alumni Association.

The evening will start with a chili supper in the high school cafeteria from 5-7 p.m. The all-you-can-eat supper is open to the public, football and non-football fans alike, at $5 per person. North Putnam fans are also welcome.

All the 1973 football players, cheerleaders and coaches should check in at the alumni tent outside the entrance to the football field by 6:15 p.m.

An alumni tent will also be set up inside the gate to purchase shirts and membership to the alumni association.

The 1973 team and cheerleaders will be presented to the fans before the game starts. At halftime, the crowning of the homecoming king and queen will take place.

Anyone who was a GHS student during the 1973-74 school year should consider attending this event.
