Friday, September 27, 2013

The Alaska Christian Church will celebrate its annual homecoming and its 178th anniversary with a special concert bay Mahseh on Sunday, Oct. 6.

The group will present a mini concert in the worship area at 10 a.m., followed by Café Alaska at 10:30 a.m. and worship at 10:45 a.m. with old hymns of the church featured and special music by Mahseh.

Preaching minister Kevin Short will present the morning message. Following the service, a pitch-in meal will be served in the fellowship hall.

Mahseh is a group from the Gosport and Lewisville area and all group members are family members of the late Lee Earl and Velma Richards.

With the church celebrating its existence dating back to 1836, display will be up in the foyer area.

Members invite friends and former members and neighbors of the church to "come home to Alaska" on this special Sunday and experience the new birth of this congregation.

The church is located at 7230 Lewisville Rd., just west of the old Lewisville store. For more information, call the church office at 317-383-6300.
