Clovers sweep Greencastle

The Cloverdale seventh- and eighth-grade teams won at Greencastle on Wednesday.

The seventh-graders won 14-6 and were led by their defense and the most complete offensive game they've played all year, coach David Petty said.

The eighth-grade team won 12-6.

"This was a great game between two county rivals," coach Billy Boyette said. "Both teams left it on the field."

Tyce Jackson and Drew Boyette both scored touchdowns for Cloverdale, sealing the county championship for the second straight year.

Cloverdale plays next week against Owen Valley.
