Corporate sustainability report released by Vectren Corp.

EVANSVILLE -- Vectren Corp. has released its 2013 corporate sustainability report, Sustainability In Practice, which illustrates the company's commitment to the environment and the communities it serves, as well as investors and employees.

The report profiles Vectren's efforts to grow its well-diversified business in economically, environmentally and socially sustainable ways by detailing recent upgrades in pipeline infrastructure, programs to improve the energy efficiency of customers' homes and businesses, as well as efforts to revitalize communities.

"Our goal is to set a new sustainable precedent in our industry and in the communities we serve," Vectren Chairman, President and CEO Carl Chapman said. "From procurement practices to power generation, we stitch sustainability into the fabric of our operations."

Details regarding the company's efforts in conservation, environmental stewardship, recycling and corporate structure are also included in the report.

"Our sustainability practices embody our company goals and initiatives," Angila Retherford, Vectren's vice president of environmental affairs and corporate sustainability, noted.

"We will continue to strive to be a leader in conservation; with a focus on environmental stewardship; and a leader in community revitalization, and believe these efforts toward sustainable growth will continue to be an important contributor to long-term corporate performance."
