Wilbur E. Jones

Wilbur E. Jones, age 93, of Coatesville, passed away early Friday morning, Sept. 27, 2013 in The Waters of Greencastle.

Born Oct. 13, 1919 in Freedom, Ky., he was the son of John P. Jones and Vienna (Swords) Jones.

He married Frances Wallace on Feb. 23, 1941, and she survives.

Wilbur had worked as a machine operator for IBM Corp. for 28 years.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include three sons, John Jones, Greencastle, Jim Jones, Greencastle, and Joe Jones and wife Susan, Coatesville; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a sister, Ruth Michales, Indianapolis; and many nieces and nephews.

His parents, five brothers and four sisters preceded him in death.

A memorial service will be conducted at noon Friday, Oct. 4 at Bousley-Hays Funeral Home, Coatesville.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of service on Friday.

Inurnment will follow in the Coatesville Cemetery.
