Wednesday, October 2, 2013

The South Putnam boys' tennis team lost to South Vermillion 5-0 on Monday.

At no. 2 singles, Collin Berry lost in split sets for the Eagles, 5-7, 6-4, 6-3, and the no. 2 doubles team of Mason Sollman and Zane Crosby lost a first-set tiebreak and the match 7-6 (5), 6-3.

"Overall a pretty good effort by our team," SPHS coach Zach Love said. "We drew South Vermillion for sectionals, so I am interested to see how our team responds. I am hopeful that a couple days of practice and preparation will put us in a good position to take them on Thursday afternoon."

The Eagles begin sectional play on Thursday at 4:30 p.m. at North-view High School.
