An Act of Kindness

Wednesday, October 2, 2013

For the third year in a row Greencastle resident Chloey Barnett (right) has donated her birthday gifts to Riley Hospital for Children, the hospital where Chloey and her little sister Sydney are still patients. This year, she was able to donate 170 gifts to Riley. Donation items included board games, coloring books, makeup, nail polish, art supplies, purses, hot wheels, baby dolls and more. The 12-year-old has continued to donate her birthday presents to help put smiles on the faces of patients, "I want them to know how special and brave they are. Kids complain all the time how hard it is at school and practice, just imagine what these kids go through every day. Some of them are not able to go to school or even walk." Chloey also credits her mother, Elizabeth, as well as her two cousins for teaching her that it is better to give than receive. She hopes to inspire other children her age that they can make a difference in the world.
