Friday, October 4, 2013
The Putnam County Public Library will be hosting a free children's program, Observe the Moon Night, on Saturday, Oct. 12 from 6:30-8 p.m.
Participants are invited to observe the moon through a celestron telescope and enter the star lab, both courtesy of DePauw Professor of Physics and Astronomy Mary Kertzman and her students.
There will also be fun moon-themed activities and snacks.
The McKim Observatory will follow with an 8 p.m. open house.
International Observe the Moon Night is an annual event dedicated to encouraging people to look up and take notice of our nearest neighbor, the moon.
