CLAYTON -- Property totaling 120 acres of tillable and wooded land in Putnam County sold for $862,400 last Wednesday in a live and online auction that drew 109 registered bidders.

Using the Ultimate Choice bidding platform from MarkNet Alliance, auctioneer TJ Freije of Freije Auctioneers brought $8,900 per tillable acre.

"Freije Auctioneers did a fantastic job in bringing the 120-acre farm in Putnam County to market," said Matt Corso, chief operating officer of MarkNet Alliance.

Onsite bidders were allowed to place bids in any combination they desired and online bidders were given the same opportunity.

"One big advantage Freije had in their auction was the method of sale," Corso said. "They are the only company in their region with the software to allow this kind of bidding combination and one of very few in the country with this program available to them."

"Selling the property at auction with onsite and online capabilities helped us exceed the sellers' expectations by netting them more money than they originally thought it would bring," auctioneer TJ Freije said.

Freije Auctioneers, a full-service auction marketing and appraisal company, is a member of the MarkNet Alliance.

Freije Auctioneers conducts more than 400 auctions per year, selling automobiles, livestock equipment, general merchandise, collectibles, antiques and real estate.
