* At 5:25 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 1, Katherine Wenk, 64, Lowell, was westbound on U.S. 36 just west of County Road 600 East in a 2013 Chevrolet Equinox. She told Lt. Donnie Pettit the sun was in her eyes and she could not see the road.

Wenk traveled left of center and struck a 2003 GMC Sierra driven eastbound by Pamela York, 54, Greencastle. Wenk's vehicle then continued westbound, rotating counter clockwise as it left the south side of the road and hit a fence.

York's truck rotated counter clockwise and came to rest facing northwest in the westbound lane.

Lt. Pettit said the area of impact was approximately three feet into the eastbound lane.

Wenk had to be extricated from the vehicle by PMH ambulance personnel and was transported from the scene.

Damage was estimated at $5,001-$10,000.

* At 3:43 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 8, Jill A. Gibson, 49, Cloverdale, was northbound on U.S. 231 in a 2003 Oldsmobile Bravada approaching a driveway (East Tall Oaks Lane).

Gibson noticed a southbound grain truck preparing to turn left into Tall Oaks Lane, and slowed to allow time for the truck to make the turn. She told Sgt. Craig Sibbitt that a second truck followed the first and was slow making the turn, causing her to need to stop.

Dakota M. Evans, 17, Cloverdale, was also northbound on U.S. 231 in a 2012 Ford Escape and was unable to stop in time to avoid rear-ending Gibson's vehicle.

Gibson told Sgt. Sibbitt she was going to Putnam County Hospital to be checked out believed she was OK.

Damage was estimated at $2,501-$5,000.

* At 9:39 p.m. on Wednesday, Evan M. Potts, 18, Memphis, Tenn., was eastbound on County Road 300 South in a 2005 Ford Mustang. He told Deputy Matt Biggs a group of deer ran into the road and he hit his brakes to avoid hitting them.

While stopping, he was rear-ended by another vehicle. Following the collision, the vehicle took off past him eastbound on 300 South.

Potts could only observe that the other vehicle was a dark-colored passenger car.

Biggs searched the area after the investigation but found no vehicle with front-end damage.

Damage was estimated at $1,001-$2,500.
