Square Meal

Friday, October 11, 2013

Local residents and DePauw University students alike pass through the serving line Friday evening as the inaugural "Dine on the Square" event unfolds on the north side of the courthouse in Greencastle. Keeping a watchful eye on the proceedings is organizer Adam May (right), vice president of community relations for DePauw Student Government, which conceived the event. The dinner included a pulled pork sandwich from Chief's, a salad from the Downtown Café, macaroni and cheese from Putnam Inn and a "dessert shot" from Almost Home. Half of all proceeds from the charity event will be donated to the United Way of Putnam County.

  • Sounds like this could be the beginning of something good. Adam May and DPU students: kudos! Participating restaurants: kudos! Banner Graphic: How about a full-length feature article about this event? (My apologies if that has already happened and I didn't see it due to not being a print or e-subscriber.)

  • I don't know how a full length article could have done it any better. Here is a good photo of the event and I think that says it all. Besides, the reporter had to get in line to get his/her meal, right?
