'Un-BOO-Lievable Happenings' slated Oct. 26 at Raccoon SRA

Raccoon State Recreation Area will host a day of "Un-BOO-Lievable Happenings," featuring the Raccowl Egg Hunt, scarecrow creation contest, costume contests, campsite decorating, trick-or-treating and more on Saturday, Oct. 26.

Scheduled activities are:

-- 10 a.m.: Raccowl Egg Hunt.

-- Noon to 2 p.m.: Ghastly Goop and Such.

-- 3 p.m.: Costume contest and pet costume contest judging.

-- 5 p.m.: Scarecrow creation and campsite decorating judging. (The scarecrow theme is "favorite movie characters.")

-- 5 to 7 p.m.: Trick--or--treating.

-- 7:15 p.m.: Awards ceremony at Chapel Shelter.

-- 8 to 10 p.m.: Hayrides, $2 per person.

The standard admission fee of $5 per in-state vehicle and $7 per out-of-state vehicle will be in effect.

Raccoon State Recreation Area is located at 1588 S. Raccoon Parkway, Rockville.
