Tri-West, Speedway advance in soccer regional

Regional favorite Tri-West beat Covington 5-0 in the boys soccer regional semifinal at Greencastle High School on Thursday.

The Bruins advanced to the regional after beating Greencastle in the Bethesda Christian sectional semifinals last week.

Covington reached regioals after beating North Putnam in the West Vigo sectional finals.

In the other regional semifinal match Speedway defeated Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter 1-0.

Both teams hosted their own sectional-championship teams in the previous rounds.

The regional final between Tri-West and Speedway is scheduled for Saturday at 5 p.m.
