Annual fruit sale under way for Cloverdale FFA
CLOVERDALE -- The Cloverdale High School FFA fruit sales have begun.
The Cloverdale FFA is selling a selection of citrus, apples, pineapples, pears and mixed boxes in addition to honey and candy as a fundraiser.
Anyone who would like to place an order may contact Tiffany Douglass or Chelsey Meluch at Cloverdale High School at 765-795-4203.
Fruit sales help fund the entire year of FFA activities for CHS members.
Meanwhile, the Cloverdale FFA has been busy this fall with several chapter and community activities.
The chapter had its kickoff for members and their families on Sept. 28 at Lieber State Recreation Area. In addition they hosted the inaugural Cloverdale FFA alumni meeting at that time.
The Alumni Chapter is for any adult interested in supporting the FFA. Anyone interested in becoming a member may contact advisers Tiffany Douglass or Chelsey Meluch at CHS.
To help out the area's busy farmers, the chapter made and delivered meals to those who were busy harvesting their crops.
For fall contests, the Cloverdale FFA competed in the Livestock Skill-a-Thon contest, Soils Judging and Forestry Judging.
Cloverdale had high school teams placing fifth and 21st at the State Skill-A-Thon and a junior high team placing 11th. Heather Goss was the top individual, placing in the top 10 in the state.
Students will be competing at the State Soils Contest on Saturday, Oct. 26 and the Area Forestry contest in November.
The Cloverdale FFA will be attending the National FFA Convention in Louisville as it gears up for a busy winter season.
