Autumn Glen to host free dementia seminar Nov. 5

Autumn Glen will present a seminar on "Normal Aging vs. Dementia" on Tuesday, Nov. 5.

The focus is educating the public on the differences between normal memory loss and other issues that often accompany aging and the signs and symptoms of actual dementia.

A question-and-answer period will give the audience time for specific answers.

Hors d'oeuvres and registration will begin at 2 p.m. with the presentation beginning at 2:30.

Facilitator Darren Leavitt, through his experience as administrator of dementia care facilities, has developed many programs for those with Alzheimer's or other forms of dementia.

Leavitt is also on the advisory board for the NW Indiana Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association.

Autumn Glen, a senior community located at 98 N. 10th St. (Round Barn Road), Greencastle, offers frequent seminars on various subjects of interest to seniors or those caring for a senior.
