The Putnam County Extension Homemakers Past Presidents Club will present their 35th annual Arts and Craft Show Nov. 1 and 2 at the Putnam County Fairgrounds Community Building.

The show will have more than 65 tables, featuring crafters from the local area and as far away as Kentucky.

The show is open on Friday 4-8 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Admission is free and everyone is invited to attend.

Door prizes donated by vendors will be given away throughout the show, persons will need to be present to win.

The Putnam County Photography Club will be taking pictures with Santa. Food and desserts, prepared by members of two local Extension clubs, will be available both days.

The Arts and Craft show began in 1978 as a place for the local Extension Clubs to offer demonstrations where visitors could participate in making a craft item to take home and the instructions for future use.

As interest has grown, the show has expanded to include local crafters wanting to sell their handcrafted items. Today there is such a great response that the organization has a waiting list of vendors wanting to participate.

This year's show will feature handcrafted items such as Christmas ornaments, wooden toys and decorations, handcrafted quilts, jewelry and baked goods.

Many of the vendors have participated for more than 20 years, while several vendors who are participating for the first time.

Anyone who would like information on becoming a vendor for the show in 2014 may contact Dorothy Wells at 653-3586.
