Goodwill Hunting

Thursday, October 31, 2013
Facade renovation work has moved to the northeast corner of the courthouse square as ongoing Stellar Grant efforts in Greencastle now focus on the old Goodwill store at 21 N. Indiana St. among other structures in the downtown. A pair of Advanced Restoration Contractors (ARC) officials use a bucket truck to examine the top section of the brick facade, which it has been determined is deteriorating badly enough that all the brick veneer on the west elevation of the building will need to be replaced. The Greencastle Redevelopment Commission has approved a $14,673 change-order on the facade project to enable the brickwork to be done. It is expected to add 14 days to the completion date of the contract on the building with a new finish date of Jan. 8 anticipated.
