BIS appreciates community support for recent events

Thursday, October 31, 2013

To the Editor:

The Bainbridge Improvement Society (BIS) recently hosted its semi-annual Jonah Fish Fry early in October followed by its 10-day Garage Sale during the Covered Bridge Festival.

BIS wishes to extend a big heartfelt "Thank You" to all the dedicated volunteers, the businesses who helped, and the visitors who made these two events such a huge success.

The proceeds from these two activities will be used to pursue the Mission of BIS to improve the quality of community life, encourage volunteerism and help provide needed good neighbor services in the town and community.

BIS helped support the local July 5 fireworks show as well as a variety of educational classes such as a cooking class, a hunter's ed class and a self-defense class during 2013.

The next large event at the Bainbridge Community Building on U.S.36 will be the annual Thanksgiving dinner on Sunday, Nov. 24 in cooperation with the Christian Church, the United Methodist Church and others who wish to share in a Thanksgiving fellowship for all in the community. All are invited to attend.
