Putnam Board of Realtors hosting annual bingo benefit Saturday

Monday, November 4, 2013

Hoping to attract more players than ever before with the lure of $1,000 in cash and prizes, the Putnam County Board of Realtors will host its fifth annual fall bingo on Saturday, Nov. 9.

The bingo fundraiser at the Putnam County Fairgrounds will benefit the Board of Realtors' scholarship fund, which has awarded more than $10,000 in scholarships to date.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Saturday with early bird games starting at 6 p.m. The main games will begin at 6:30.

Tickets are $15 in advance or $20 at the door. One ticket entitles a player to 15 regular bingo games with a six-card sheet, the bonanza game and an early bird game.

Players must be 18 or older to participate.

Tickets can be purchased in advance at Abstract and Title, American Realty, At Home Realty, Carpenter Realtors, Collins/Evans Real Estate, Coldwell Banker, Farm Credit Services, F.C. Tucker-Schneider Realty, Wood & Associates and First National Bank in both Greencastle and Cloverdale.

Proceeds are earmarked for the Board of Realtors' scholarship fund -- which is managed by the Putnam County Community Foundation -- with the intent that over time the fund may grow to be self-sustaining and the amount of scholarships awarded annually can be increased.

Currently the Board of Realtors awards $500 scholarships to four Putnam County high school seniors each year.
