Alan Skillern (left) portrays Broadway composer Brad Allen, while Jerica Bean (right) plays Jan Morrow and Jenny Zehner (on floor) is Eileen in a scene from the North Putnam High School production of "Pillow Talk." Sharing a party line with the composer proves frustrating for interior decorator Morrow because Allen is constantly on the line with his many girlfriends, including singing to Eileen here.

This weekend, North Putnam High School will present the comedy "Pillow Talk," adapted from the 1958 movie starring Doris Day and Rock Hudson.

The play will be performed at 7:30 p.m. both Friday, Nov. 8 and Saturday, Nov. 9 in the newly refurbished auditorium. A matinee on Sunday, Nov. 10 will begin at 3 p.m.

All tickets are $5.

The "Pillow Talk" story line is a classic romantic comedy. What makes it interesting for this generation of teenagers is that they barely know what it is like to share a telephone with their parents, let alone be on a party line with strangers.

In "Pillow Talk," interior decorator Jan Morrow (played by Jerica Bean) is fed up with sharing a party line with Broadway composer Brad Allen (Alan Skillern). He ties up the line singing to and flirting with his many girlfriends (Jenny Zehner, Sydney Harmon and Samantha Flannelly are featured).

When Jan complains to the phone company, she doesn't get very far when they send a beautiful inspector (Kayla Clodfelter) who reports back that Allen is extremely "cooperative."

Jan has her hands full, balancing the attentions of a millionaire client, Jonathan Forbes (Tristan Montgomery) who happens to also be producing Allen's new musical, as well as the unwanted attentions of a client's son (Darion Brown). She has a little help from an over-dramatic co-worker (Cheyanne Elliott) and a witty and wise maid (Gwen Mazur).

And she needs that help when Allen finds out that the annoying "old crank" sharing his party line is really a beautiful young woman -- and he decides to woo her, disguising his identity.

Adding to the comedy of errors is a private investigator (Alex Moore) hired by Forbes to find out who has stolen his girl from him.

Other members of the NPHS cast include Jessica Games, Jacob Buchanan, Kelsey Summerlot, Whitney Willard, Alex Koll and Lauren Fisher.

Student directors are Cheyanne Elliott and Samantha Flannelly. Stage manager is Alex Wittig.

Crew members include D.J. Hubbard, Jonah Kimes, Cassie Clark, Paige Patterson, Brandon Wunderlich, Amy Olson and Miranda Milliken. Rev. Kathi Elliott is the director, while Linda Gjesvold is technical director.
