Greencastle Christian Church has announced the hiring of John Tischer (left) as new lead pastor, joining preaching and teaching pastor Mark Miller, who has served at GCC since 1982

Greencastle Christian Church (GCC) is pleased to announce that John Tischer has been called to be the lead pastor for the congregation. As lead pastor, John will provide leadership and vision to the GCC congregation as it grows in discipleship of its members and outreach to the community.

John is a graduate of Truman State University (Missouri) and earned a Master of Divinity from Lincoln Christian Seminary (Iillinois). John's passion is "discipleship training," to see people grow deeper in their understanding of God's love and truth for them.

He and his wife Anisha, who is a graduate of Saint Louis Christian College, have two daughters, Ella, age 4, and Josie, age 2.

Prior to coming to Greencastle, John was one of the discipleship pastors at Harvester Christian Church in St. Charles, Mo. In that assignment, he worked with more than 70 Life Groups.

In addition, John has served at Harvester as a student pastor in the area of college-age ministry.

Between those two assignments, he was involved in planting and establishing Reunion Christian Church in Boston.

In John's role at GCC, he will focus on overall leadership of the congregation with a special emphasis on the 30-50 age group. Mark Miller will focus on spiritual growth with individuals 50 and older.

Worship services at Greencastle Christian Church are held at 9 and 10:30 a.m. each Sunday. Adult supervised nursery, pre-school and children's areas are provided. Middle school and high school students meet each Sunday at 10:30 a.m. in the GCC Multi-Purpose Room.

The members of GCC ask you to join them as they love, grow and serve God in our community, country and across the globe.
