Cloverdale High School students receive academic letter jackets

More than 50 Cloverdale High School juniors and seniors were honored on recently when they received academic letters and jackets for the 2013-14 academic year.

Principal Sonny Stoltz and counselor Beth Sewell made the presentations on Wednesday, Oct. 23.

Seniors who receive academic letter jackets must have a GPA of 3.333 or higher, six college prep math credits, six English credits; four social science credits, six science credits and six World Language Credits.

Students must also be on track to earn the Indiana Core 40 with Academic Honors Diploma or the Indiana Core 40 with Technical Honors Diploma.

The seniors who received their jackets include Andrew Beatty, Garrett Brackin, Bret Brumfield, Haylen Eccles, Noah Ehmen, Heather Goss, Megan Helterbrand, Deena Hesselgrave, Andrew Howard, Kourtney Hubbard, Jordan Hughes, Taulbee Jackson, Beka Jordan, Ethan Maners, Kyle Manion, Taylor Mescall, Mystic Minnick, MaKayla Moore, Adri Patterson, Lindsay Robson, Kade Schroer, Mitchell Stacy, Rylie Vauters, Elizabeth Wardlow, Aaron Whitlock and Ethan Williamson.

The requirements for the academic letter for juniors are having a 3.00 or higher GPA, four math credits, four English credits, two social science credits, four science credits and two World Language credits.

The juniors who earned the academic letter certificate are Christa Asbury, Collin Beauchamp-Umphrey, Dustin Boothby, Ethan Boyd, Alexis Branneman, Clayton Byrd, Troy Davis, David Green, Emily Grove, Bridget Jackson, Hannah Mann, Rylan Mattocks, Raeanna McFadden, Christopher Moghadam, Charlotte Muns, Sarah Neeley, Collin Pennington, Taylea Pennington, Jacob Roach, Kyleigh Roberts, Madison Smith, Bailee Stevens, Sylvia Tiedemann, Jacob Waycott, Jessica Winders, and Laura Worthington.

During the presentation in the high school gym, Sewell stressed how proud she, Stoltz and assistant principal Brent Sailor are of these students and their academic accomplishments.

"They are all great students and true assets to the Cloverdale Community," Sewell said.
